Our story

We're carefully crafting a real-time tracking system, with attention to every detail.

ProSlider is an intelligent camera system that locks onto your subject and frames it automatically, in real time. Use the motorized slider for cinematic video, or the 360Flex to follow fast-paced sports and live events — all driven by the app, with no crew and no second operator.

Behind the project

Hi, I'm Matthieu, founder of ProSlider. This wasn't supposed to take six years. Let me tell you why it did. ProSlider started with a problem every creator knows: the moment a camera enters the frame, you suddenly need an extra pair of hands behind it. Existing sliders either demanded that help or were priced for studio crews. We wanted one that actually worked for the way most of us shoot—without a team.

It hasn't been a straight line. After a master's in mechanical engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, I spent years iterating on the electronics, the mechanics and the firmware—designing each part to work with the others as a single system. It took longer than I hoped, partly because I refused to ship a slider I wouldn't trust on my own shoots. Quality won every time we had to choose.

The slider alone wasn't enough. The ProSlider app became the brain of the system—coordinating motion, framing and real-time tracking of any subject you define. Hardened through obstacles and edge cases, it now stays reliable wherever you shoot.

Today, ProSlider is backed by an industrial partner who can produce at scale without losing what we obsessed over in the workshop. The goal hasn't changed: let one person do what used to require a team, without compromise.

Milestones

The road so far

  1. Apr 2019

    Day one

April 2019. The goal was clear: bring cinematic camera motion to anyone shooting on their own—at a price independent creators can actually pay. Nothing on the market came close. ProSlider takes shape on a notebook page.

  2. May 2020

    Industrial partnership

A factory partner comes on board to take whatever we design from prototype to production—without losing the precision of the workshop. The deal locks in the production capacity we need to ship the project at scale.

  3. 2020
    — 2023

    Research & engineering deep work

A year of research mapped the landscape clearly: motion systems were built for full crews, with prices to match. The next three years went into building something different—redesigning the mechanics, electronics and firmware from scratch, making each subsystem work with the others as a single system.

  4. 2023
    — 2026

    Testing, refining & pre-launch prep

ProSlider went into the hands of working creators, came back with notes, went back into the workshop. Iteration after iteration—then the long stretch of preparing the factory pilot runs, the tooling and the final QA pipeline for launch.

  5. Today
    — Jun 2026

    Limited launch

ProSlider opens for pre-orders to a first batch of independent creators. Limited allocation, shipping before February 2027.

  6. Jul 2026

    ProSlider app release

The ProSlider app ships to the App Store and Google Play, giving pre-order customers first access to the build that orchestrates motion, framing and tracking.

  7. Sep 2026
    — Nov 2026

    Industrialisation at scale

Our industrial partner ramps production to fulfil every pre-order. Units undergo end-of-line quality control before shipping.

In the workshop this season

  • Finishing the ProSlider app

We're putting the final touches on the app—the easiest way to control your ProSlider. Pick what you want to film, choose your shot, and let the rig take care of the rest. No setup headaches, no extra hands needed.

  • Tested before it ships

We're putting in place our own quality-control software, so every single ProSlider is fully tested before it ships. No surprises, no defects—just a product that works the moment you take it out of the box.

  • 01

    Built by filmmakers

Every feature on ProSlider exists because we needed it on a real shoot. No spec sheet padding—just the controls and modes we found ourselves reaching for, batch after batch.

  • 02

    Engineered for solo creators

Define your subjects, set your mode, hit go. ProSlider handles the motion, the framing and the target switching—so you can stay behind the lens or in front of it, depending on the day.

  • 03

    Made to last

Aluminium rails, brushless motors, sealed bearings. Built in small batches, tested in the field, backed by a two-year warranty and a serial number that maps to a real human if anything goes wrong.
